So yesterday we decided not to go on the trip to Caerphilly castle we'd planned because it was raining all day, so instead we went for lunch and then a long walk through Ponty and up the hill to the Glyn Taff cemetery. There were apparently some scenes from Torchwood and Doctor Who filmed at the cemetery, so we decided to geek out and go see things. But the rain and the wind made the whole thing kind of clammy to say the least, and when we got home we were all tired and cold and wet, so we finished up the afternoon with some hot tea, and then I made lamb pie for dinner and it was om nom nom delicious. I'll have to see if I can convince my grandparents to try something like it, perhaps not with lamb (because that's not really readily available in Poland) but maybe with chicken or veal or something. IDK. They'll probably turn their noses up at it, which I'm perfectly OK with because om nom nom, more for me. >_>
And then today we'd planned to go to Barry Island and see the beach again before we leave, but it's still fucking raining, so that's not really gonna happen. I'm told that rain wouldn't entirely ruin a trip to Caerphilly, so we may try for that tomorrow. I guess it'll depend on how much packing and stuff we get done today. (Packing. So much DNW.)
On the other hand, I've picked up all my essays from my instructors, and the provisional marks are going to get sorted out in time for us to get everything done back home (I think - I'm not really sure anymore, it's all a big mess, but it appears to be sorted out). It's really funny, the grading scale here, where anything over 70% is "first class," so you get comments like "this is a very good essay" and it has lots of positive comments and praise, and then your mark is 69%. *hands* I don't understand it. I did fairly well on the essays, but funnily enough, the one I thought was the weakest got the highest mark, and the one I thought was the strongest got the lowest. BUT. Done. Marked. Returned. \o/
Here's some music for you guys. Two new albums: Woodkid's The Golden Age, which is fabulous, and IAMX's The Unified Field (plus The Unified Field & Quiet The Mind EP), which I'm just listening to right now and mmm, gorgeous musics.
