haters gonna hate, gingers gonna rule
I’ve finished the semester (well, I have one more short paper to write for Tuesday, but I have my grade for that class already) and this time, I’m coming in with a nice 5.0 average (that’s the equivalent of straight As). \o/ I’ve taken the weekend to recuperate (Friday was a bit rough, with a total crash that it was surprisingly hard to pick myself up from), and I’ve spent it doing nothing much more strenuous than reading, playing Portal 2, and watching cat videos on YouTube. Right now I’m waiting for my nails to dry a bit more before I go and make strawberry pierogi for tonight. #omnomnom
Roommate G and I are possibly going to have some work for the summer, making a website for the real estate agency that got us our place, so hopefully take care of getting a job for the summer. I’m probably still going to polish up my CV and see about trying to get a job at a translation company. Even if it’s just very temporary, at least it might give me some experience of working in a translation company office rather than doing the work at home and sending it in.
We’re gearing up to adopt a rescue cat, so I’ve been scouring the websites and trying to find just the right one. We’ll probably head to the shelter tomorrow to meet a ginger tomcat that looks lovely, and we’ll see where it goes from there. He’s in quarantine until tomorrow anyway, but it’s possible that someone will swoop in before us, in which case oh well, plenty of other cats available. I’ve ordered a transporter and a litter box and litter, now I just have to get some food and we’ll be ready to go. I’ve gotten rid of my diffenbachia and my ivy plant because they’re poisonous to cats, and we still have to cat-proof our balcony, since we’re on the 7th floor, and it’s not a good idea to leave it as open as it is right now. So we’ll have to string up some sort of net/mesh-type thing and in the meantime, watch out when opening the balcony door.
In watching the cat videos, I’ve come to the conclusion that when the day comes that cats take over the world, humans are going to be totally screwed.
