So, Skyfall is a dolphin noise-inducing thing.
I loved everything about this movie - the Bond Girls (although I really do wish they'd stop with the gratuitous deaths for them, SRSLY HOLLYWOOD KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF), the villain (<3 Javier Bardem, especially in the later scenes at Skyfall), the cinematography, the action, just... *flails* Everything. The London scenes were a bit distracting, much like scenes shot in any city where I've been, as I kept having "hey! I've been there! I know where that is!" moments at random times.
I have to say, I was probably more upset than I should have been by the destruction of Skyfall Manor. I was hoping it would get a bit banged up and then maybe he'd decide to rebuild or something, but instead it went splody. But *_______________* SCOTLAND. SO PRETTY OMG.
I'm crushed they killed off M, at least without giving us a bit more about her. Look, we probably have more information about Ralphdemort at this point than we do about M, and he was only on screen for a few minutes here. *sigh* Eve taking a desk job and turning out to be a Moneypenny... well, I'm not quite sure how I feel about that. It fucks a bit with my personal headcanon that Judi Dench's M was the Moneypenny from the old movies, and she moved up the ranks (and that "Bond" is an identity that's assigned to agents, much like "M" and "Q" are assigned to others, so Daniel Craig's Bond is just another in the long line of Bonds - which makes it quite possible to have Idris Elba as Bond, or possibly a lady Bond sometime in the future), although I suppose there's nothing that says the two women couldn't have been distant cousins. IDK. Headcanon still stands, though.
Also, is it just me, or is "Skyfall" (the song), much like "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale, very much from M's point of view, talking to Bond? OK, "Skyfall" can be read from other POV's, but as I'm probably one of the very few people who ship M/Bond, I'm going to ignore those other POVs and wave my tiny little shipper flag. It's not really an OTP ship for me, because Cthulhu knows Bond isn't really capable of being in a monogamous relationship for very long, but shiiiiip. I'm not quite on board with the "bloody big ship" that came out of this movie, but I can certainly see the appeal. *_* Ben Whishaw. I should probably get around to watching Richard II from this summer's Hollow Crown tetralogy sometime soon.
Here, have the Thomas Newman score for the movie.

And honestly, I blame the Bond/Q on Ben Whishaw and the scene where they're meeting for the first time.
