I seem to be leaning heavily towards genre films again, what a surprise

Haaaa, I was going to try and update my 2012 movie/tv scrapbook post, but I've pretty much lost track of all the movies that I've seen and rewatched this past year, so I'm not even going to try. Also, I fucked up my back this morning and I'm having difficulty thinking clearly. But I wanted to make a list of what I was looking forward to next year, so I went through the Most Popular Feature Films list for 2013 on IMDB. I could probably list more, but I went through the first 100 titles, so I'm gonna say that's enough of that. Obviously since the list is the "most popular" movies, this doesn't really include all the indie/mega ludicrous/whatever flicks that come out of left field (or those that get released out of schedule or without having the release date announced this far in advance).

I'm probably not going to manage to see all of these next year, but it's good to have goals. In no particular order (except that they mostly go by popularity on IMDB's list, so that's kinda what this corresponds to):

Did they redo Evil Dead? I might not be able to stomach it if they remade it. But, like you, I'm going to be seeing all of those movies that I can minus City of Bones. Sorry, I still won't support a plagiarist, even though it looks good.

Yeah, they remade it. The trailer is super freaky, and I might not be able to actually watch the movie in the theater, because I get skeeved out super easily by movies like that (well, I used to, and the original Evil Dead was one of the movies that made me feel super uncomfortable).

I might have to steal my gran's heating pad and curl up with it today, because to be quite honest, it's about 500% worse today. :( Who knew a 30kg sack of potatoes could do that much damage?

I'm trying to go before the 1st 'cause I head stateside on the 2nd & no chance in hell I'll get time to see it there & when I get back my ride for doing stuff like this will have moved away, cancelling any chance to get a ride to the movies again until April.

Well, maybe it's time to get a driver's license/move out into the city yourself? Pick up and go off, do something crazy, take a risk! It might not be easy, but if you don't do *something, you'll never find out what could have been.
