DW layout question

So in an effort to keep myself distracted from all the bad stuff, I'm fiddling with layouts and stuff, and I have a question. There used to be a way on LJ - through layer styles, I believe - to align the mood theme picture to the right/left of the metadata, so the metadata text wasn't displaced by the image. Is there a way to do that on Dreamwidth?

I believe you're after this? Or at least, that's how to move the mood icon to the left on Smooth Sailing layout.

I did a messy hack with my LJ CSS (no layers required huzzah!) with:

.entryMetadata-content img {display: inline; float: left; margin: 0px 5px 2em 0px;}

You may need to fiddle with the margin padding? But I have no idea if it'll work on DW.

Yay, it worked! Now I just need to figure out how to align it vertically when all three metadata things are present. And figure out what to do with the tags, because they're separate from the rest of them

Someone asked about this in style_system earlier this year and got an answer here that includes the tags.

Ooh, thank you! I tried implementing it but it made things all weird, and misaligned, I'll have to play with it a bit to see if I can fix it.

I haven't tried it myself yet - I'm still using a ported layout - so I don't have any good advice for you but good luck!
