dear body, either get properly sick or stop with the all over aches
I have to say, I love getting kudos on olllld fics I reposted to AO3 from my old JournalFen account. I'm not sure if I even linked them here. A long time ago, back when I was still writing fanfic, I wrote a bunch of cracky SPN stuff that I sometimes think should be filed under "oh dear god, what was I thinking?" until I take a stroll through the internet and realize that John Winchester mpreg and "a full ride" doesn't mean what you think it means (to give two examples) don't really even register on the weirdness meter. There are a few fics that, ideally, I'd actually go back to and continue (like the one where Dean gets magically turned into a girl and then knocked up by Sam, or the one that goes AU right from the end of season 1, and then the world ends, or the one that was going to be a crossover between the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter books and Fullmetal Alchemist. I don't know if I ever will, though. I seem to be much more focused (for a given value of "focused") on original fiction, and I don't know if I really feel the need to tell those stories anymore.
In other news, the turnout for this year's OFBB reversebang is... less than stellar - as in five pieces, three of which are mine (because I figured we might need a spare, only to have it turn out that we need all of them). I've got somewhat sternly-worded messages out to the two people who missed the deadline, and if I don't hear back from them by tomorrow, I'm going ahead without them. The problem with that is that while we have five pieces, we have 12 writers signed up to claim stuff. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone will actually claim something, but the assumption is that we'll need something for everyone. So I have a choice, leave one of my mixes off and have three claims per piece, but that means I have to choose one to leave out and I don't know which one! *hands* I guess I'll leave the decision till the morning when I post the claims, and if the two late artists don't get back to me, then I'll pick one mix to leave out at random and we'll have a very tiny reversebang round.
