I was looking through some pictures from last summer's hike to Śnieżka that I never uploaded, and this one jumped out at me. With the recent craze of Hannibal sweeping through the internets, I thought this one was nicely topical.

I'm really looking forward to going back to Śnieżka and the Samotnia hostel. It was so beautiful and peaceful there. I think I'm going to plan a last minute getaway in September, before school starts, to reboot my brain and recharge my batteries.

That's really lovely. Ominous, but lovely.

That day the clouds were so thick you could hardly see a couple of hundred feet in front of you. But when we got a bit lower down on the mountain (where the tree stump was), it made for a fabulously eerie atmosphere. I'm going to try and go back there this summer, but I'd also love to go in the winter, when the place gets buried in snow and looks fantastically spooky.
