a nighttime walk (project 52: 1/52)

This is the first entry in my attempt at completing a Project 52. I'm aware that technically the first week of January is over, but pfft, that's how we roll around here. :P

I couldn't focus on anything today, and my head and stomach hurt, and I was sick of sitting at home, so I decided to get on a bus and then a tram and go take some pictures of the Millennium Bridge here in Wrocław, since I didn't get around to it on Friday, when I wanted to start this year's Project 52. The last time I saw it was back in 2010, when I was coming back from the seaside. It was about 4am and I was half-asleep, but I remember it being very colorful and pretty, so I thought I'd got and check it out.

True enough, it's lit up with colored lights, but if you're walking on the bridge, you can't really see them without sticking your head over the railing and leaning down, and given my weird fear of heights/bridges/water below me, I didn't think that was a very good idea. I got dizzy just walking over the bridge and glancing to the side and realizing that the darkness I was looking at was the river.

It was kinda chilly and windy and my eyes were watering, but it was also quiet and kinda cool, and I could use the railing to rest my camera on, which meant I could use the nighttime mode on the camera and not end up with a completely blurry mess. I want to go back out there again when the sun is still up, but possibly closer to sunset, because that always makes the light really pretty. Also, yay for accidental lens flare effects!
