The Blogger's Prayer

Lo, there do I see my posts.
Lo, there do I see my tweets.
Lo, there do I see my gifsets and my picspams.
Lo, there do I see the line of my blog, back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them on the Internets,
Where the geek may live forever.

*rocks back and forth* SO MUCH SCHOOLWORK TO DO. And yet I can't focus on anything that I actually need to be doing. I should be writing a response paper for tomorrow's class, but my brain checked out on me a couple of hours ago and nothing I do is helping. *cries*

Things I need to write:

- 3 response papers for the Writing on the Doorstep class
- essay for Children's Lit class
- presentation for Life Writing class
- presentation for conversations class
- paper for translation class
- finish assignment for translation class
- as much as I can write of the first chapter of my MA thesis

And all of this has to be done before the 21st. *cries forever and ever* I'm not panicking. Yet.

BUT HEY AT LEAST I GOT MY YEAR-END MIX FINISHED.

I reposted my old non-conventional Christmas music mix from a few years back over at [community profile] inmediasres, so check it out if you'd like. And if you're in the mood for a Christmas-themed fic, check out [archiveofourown.org profile] shiplizard and [archiveofourown.org profile] binz's story Snow Days, which is part of their Dresden Files AU series, Near Miss. You can also check out "On the Edge of a Burning Light," a fanmix I did for the story as part of the 2011 edition of [community profile] au_bigbang, that's a bit winter/Christmas/fairytale themed.

I made a couple of mini mixes for [community profile] originalbigbang's reversebang round! I got a couple of AMAZEBALLS stories to go with them, so go check out the mixes and the stories!

Because I can't focus on schoolwork worth *shit right now, I made a mix instead! This is another one of the failed Big Damn Fanmix Project from last year, and it's July's mix for [livejournal.com profile] acidamoeba. She requested the theme of "Crash and Burn" and while this isn't what I'd originally imagined it to be, I think it's a pretty solid little mix.

In my head, it's the soundtrack to some sort of post-apocalyptic story set in a wasteland, with a lone survivor reluctantly taking up arms. What she's fighting for, and whether she succeeds is entirely up to the listener's imagination, but I like to think the whole thing is a bit epic and awesome.

So once upon a time, I decided to do a bunch of fanmixes, and I ambitiously called it the Big Damn Fanmix project. And then of course I flaked out because of reasons and didn't finish most of them. The June one was about half finished, and I had pretty much given up on it, but since the shuffle's been serving up a lot of songs with a strong beat lately, I figured I'd finish this (procrastination? what procrastination? >_>).

A Beat to Drive You On at [community profile] inmediasres

[livejournal.com profile] upupa_epops said she likes to write to music with a strong beat, so here's a bunch of toe-tapping, air-drumming (or guitaring, depending on what the beat is from) songs that might help drive the wordcount forward. At the very least, I think it's a pretty good collection of songs for anything from writing to working out to dancing around the house like a dork.

And now, back to Silas Marner. I've got an audiobook, so I can listen and knit or cook or something, rather than trying to force myself to sit and read. Bleh, nineteenth century realism, with its giant blocks of text of narration. :/
